Teaching Methods

Programme design
The teaching and training at the college includes:

  • Theoretical subjects
  • Practical subjects

Counselling system

The progress and development of the students is continuously monitored by the teaching/ training personnel and is supervised by the management of the college with a view to help students to successfully progress with their studies, to review and evaluate procedures and to ensure a smooth running of the educational programmes.

The purpose of the consultation system is:

  • To inform and advise students on academic matters.
  • To provide advice and solutions to any personal problems.
  • To improve the understanding and relations among the students, the academic and administrative staff.
  • To develop a spirit of cooperation according to the academic philosophy of the college.

Examinations, assessment and advancement of students

The examinations at the college consist of the theoretical examinations and the practical examinations.

The grade for each subject, theoretical or practical, is composed of the grade from the assessment examinations during the academic year (course work) with 40% weight and the grade from the final examination at the end of the year with 60% weight. The passing mark is 50% of their total.

Titles of Study

The students, who have satisfied the criteria and the prerequisites and successfully completed their studies, after a recommendation by the teachers committee and approval by the academic committee, are awarded the title of their programme of study.

The graduates of the programme: "Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy (2 Years, Diploma)" are awarded the Diploma in Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy.

The graduates of the programme: “Applied Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy (1 Year, with a prerequisite of an appropriate 2-year Programme of study, Higher Diploma)” are awarded the Higher Diploma in Applied Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy.

The graduates of the course: "Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy (1 Year, Certificate)"
are awarded the Certificate in Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy.

Admissions requirements

Applica tions for admission in the courses offered are invited from Lyceum or other secondary schools graduates, public or private, who have completed at least six years education in the high school and hold a school leaving certificate (apolyterion), or, any other equivalent qualification.

Registrations

The applicants, who fulfil the minimum admissions requirements of the college, have an interview with the director of the college or the person responsible for the registrations during which certain criteria concerning the qualities possessed by the applicant are assessed, such as : education background, personality, perception and desire to attend the course and ability to successfully overcome the demands of the programme of study.

A successful applicant who was offered a place for a course of study at the college must provide the following for registration :

  • High school leaving certificate (Lyceum apolyterion) or equivalent qualification
  • Identification card or birth certificate
  • Two recent photographs (passport size)
  • Payment of the registration fee and a down payment

Registration period

The registration period starts in June and is completed in September. Admissions are subject to availability and are offered to successful applicants according to the order of applications received.

Pre-registrations start in March. Admission of new students is effected during September- October.

Language

The language of the programmes offered is Greek and English.
